Prototyping ideas
For the game ideas I had, I created prototype visuals to encapsulate how my game is going to play out like.
Chopstick
The first recording I did was myself doing things with chopsticks. It was from the perspective of 1st person since it is going be a VR game. I did things such as picking up clothes, brushing my teeth with it, and typing on the laptop.
Here, I tried to write something with chopsticks. Although I can't write anything with it, it was comedic in a way that would fit well in the game.
Drew sketches of tasks that the player will encounter. First page being things you do around work: Typing, Picking up work, Writing with a pen, Holding a cup of coffee
Scenarios that the player could encounter outside of work, such as a robber running at you a stealing your belongings. Created ways in which the player could stop the robber.
Bottom half of the page going through stages of washing up: Wiping your face with a wet hand towel, brushing your teeth, applying perfume/ cologne.
Levels, going through a day in life of a worker.
0 - Tutorial: how to pick up things, grab onto objects
1 - Work: Performing tasks with chopsticks
2 - Going Home: Defend oneself from threats.
3- Home: Cooking food, preparing for next day.
Cook Book:

With just using paper and things in the kitchen, I tried to show how the game would work.
Players find ingredients from different areas such as the fridge or the cabinets. They can combine any food to create food, which then gets recorded into the cook book (name, ingredients, method, images)
There are two different modes:
1) Making the food.
Stopwatch - How long they want to cook the food for
Fire Control - How hot they want the wok to be
Cook Book - Click to open up the Cook Book.
There are no set steps, instead the player makes them up.

2) Writing down the Cook Book.
Along with the recipe comes with several images of the food and memories with your mother. The book will already have written the steps down as you cooking the recipe.
Players can choose to create a name for it.
Players are to find the ingredients themselves, which are hidden in Cupboards, the Fridge or the Freezer.
There are many ways to prepare ingredients and to cook them:
Chopping/ Cutting
Stirring
Rolling
Flipping
Pouring
Boiling
Deep Frying
Opening (Twisting, Can Openers)
Peeling
Note that the players can choose not to do any of those things if they wish.
Eat to Survive:
Cannot prototype on paper since it is hard to encapsulate the feeling, so just produce sketches instead to present the idea.
Had two camera settings, one behind the camera and the other for top down. Originally I wanted the game a 3rd person (1), but due to the amount of time to develop this sort of game, I made another option as a 2D top down game.
After killing off a monster, players will have to eat them in order to gain abilities and buffs. The buff differs depending on what animal part they eat, and they can only eat one part per monster.
If they manage all the parts of the same monster, it grants additional bonuses, unique to that monster.
Players choose to explore whatever region they would fancy. Different regions = different monsters, meaning different abilities.
